So, apparently if you spend more than $1 billion in salaries over eight years, you can eventually buy a World Series. It’s like hiring mercenaries to win a war. Hey, maybe we can send the Yankees over to Afghanistan and Iraq!
GPOYW (the grumpy edition): It’s been a long week. I’ve been sick. I’m still working on a project that goes live at 5 a.m. And I still have to prepare for a conference at which I’m speaking tomorrow at 1:30. Oh, and I have to get up at 5 a.m. and leave by 6 to get there in time. I can’t wait for this week to be over. If I hadn’t missed two days from being sick, I’d be just fine.

“I learned today that Nic was quite the YouTube phenomenon among the MVs [Marching Virginians] last week. The drum major came up to me after practice today and asked me if I was eating lunch on Sunday with the “Go Hokies kid.” Apparently someone found your video and was passing it around the band listservs to get people pumped for the game last week. :-)”
